Traditional sand, grit, or slag blasting can easily gouge fibreglass gelcoats, strip protective primer layers, or leave pitted surfaces on composite and aluminium hulls. Dry ice pellets are entirely non-abrasive; they selectively freeze and pop off failing antifouling paint and marine growth down to bare, sound material—leaving GRP and aluminium hulls perfectly smooth and etched for optimal re-coating adhesion.

Engine bilges are tight, unventilated spaces packed with wiring, stern glands, fuel lines, and pumps. Water pressure washing in these areas risks short-circuiting electrical components, contaminating bilge water, and leaving trapped moisture that fuels mold and hidden corrosion. Because dry ice sublimates instantly into carbon dioxide gas on impact, our cleaning process is completely dry—allowing us to safely clean inboard marine engines, stern gear, and bilge spaces in situ.

Environmental compliance is strict around inland waterways, rivers, and coastal marinas. Standard wet blasting creates gallons of contaminated wastewater that must be bunded and contained. With dry ice blasting, the cleaning media simply disappears into gas upon contact.
