Mould Remediation & Structural Decontamination
Microbial Eradication. Zero Moisture Risk. Brought Directly to Your Site.
Eliminating black mould, fungal spores, and heavy bio-contamination from timber frames, brickwork, and joists requires complete spore destruction without damaging underlying structural building materials. Traditional pressure washing or chemical spraying forces water deep into porous timber—creating the damp conditions that fuel future mould regrowth—while harsh chemical bleaches leave toxic residues and VOC fumes behind. Vortex Ice Labs operates a 100% mobile cryogenic cleaning service, bringing high-precision dry ice blasting directly to your residential property, commercial building, or renovation site to freeze, fracture, and strip away embedded fungal growth using zero liquid water and zero harsh chemicals.
Removing entrenched mould from structural timber, loft rafters, floor joists, and masonry is critical for indoor air quality and structural integrity. However, conventional removal methods like wire brushing or chemical washing are labor-intensive, create hazardous airborne dust, and introduce moisture into porous materials that actually accelerates sub-surface spore growth.

Vortex Ice Labs delivers a completely mobile, 100% dry cryogenic remediation process. Utilizing dry ice pellets at -78.5°C, our high-velocity micro-blast thermally shocks and instantly kills active mould, spores, and root structures on contact while dislodging staining directly off timber, brick, and concrete. Because our mobile rig is entirely self-sustained—powered by onboard high-output diesel air compression and independent power—we bring the complete setup straight to your property, requiring zero site water or electrical connections.
The Dry Ice Advantage
Thermal Shock Kills Mould Spores on Contact
100% Water-Free & Moisture Displaced
Non-Abrasive Detail for Tight & Delicate Structural Spaces
At extreme cryogenic temperatures (-78.5°C), dry ice doesn't just scrape mould off the surface—the micro-thermal shock neutralizes active fungal growth, spores, and organic biofilms on contact. It penetrates deep into wood grain and porous masonry to destroy sub-surface root structures (mycelium) that traditional surface wiping and chemical sprays miss.
Water is mould's primary catalyst. Steam cleaning or wet chemical spraying saturates building materials, extending dry-out times and creating trapped humidity that causes mould to return weeks later. Because dry ice sublimates instantly into carbon dioxide gas on impact, our remediation process introduces zero liquid moisture, allowing structural timber and masonry to remain 100% bone-dry throughout the service.
Manual scraping or sandblasting scores timber joists and degrades soft brickwork, creating rough surfaces where new spores easily nestle. Dry ice pellets are soft and non-abrasive, stripping fungal staining, soot, and rot clean off delicate historic timber, attic rafters, sub-floor cavities, and tight structural crevices without altering material dimensions or scratching underlying substrates.
