Packaging Machinery & Line Decontamination
High-Efficiency Packaging Line Hygiene. Zero Glue Build-up.
In high-output packaging and converting plants, maintaining peak line efficiency is a constant battle against hot-melt glue overspray, adhesive crusting, ink build-up, dust, and regulatory compliance. Traditional scraping and solvent cleaning are labour-intensive, create hazardous chemical fumes, and require extensive machinery teardown. Vortex Ice Labs delivers an advanced, eco-friendly cryogenic decontamination service that instantly strips hardened glues, adhesives, dust, and residues from packaging machinery—completely dry and with zero chemical contamination.
Keeping automated packaging machinery running smoothly demands absolute precision across every component—from hot-melt glue applicators and sealing jaws to carton formers, labeling heads, and conveyor belts. However, taking packaging lines offline for manual scraping or solvent cleaning causes costly bottlenecks, risks damaging delicate mechanical parts, and introduces toxic solvent odors into your facility.

Vortex Ice Labs eliminates the need for harsh solvents or scraping tools. Using food-grade dry ice pellets at -78.5°C, our process thermally shocks and fractures stubborn hot-melt adhesives, sticky tape residues, ink, and dust build-up in situ—without requiring complex machinery teardown. Because our high-output mobile unit operates with complete autonomy—powered by its own onboard diesel compressor and independent power—we deploy directly to your packaging facility during scheduled maintenance windows, restoring your production lines to factory standards without requiring site water or electricity hookups.
The Dry Ice Advantage
Instantly Removes Hot-Melt Glues & Adhesives
100% Dry & Safe for Automated Sensors & Pneumatics
Non-Abrasive & Zero Secondary Waste
Hot-melt adhesives and labeling glues quickly form hard, stubborn crusts around applicator nozzles, chains, guide rails, and rolls. Dry ice blasting thermally shocks the glue upon contact, causing it to shrink, freeze, and detach cleanly from the metal substrate—allowing complete cleaning without dismantling complex assemblies or using wire scrapers.
Because dry ice sublimates into a dry CO2 gas on impact, zero moisture is produced during the clean. This makes it completely safe to use directly on delicate optical photo-eyes, proximity sensors, pneumatic actuators, solenoids, and electrical control cabinets, eliminating short circuits, sensor misreadings, and long dry-out delays.
Unlike wire brushes, scraper blades, or harsh chemical solvents, soft dry ice pellets clean without scratching polished metal rollers, Teflon-coated sealing jaws, or rubber belts. Furthermore, because the pellets sublimate into gas, there is zero spent cleaning media or chemical wash water to manage—leaving only the dry, dislodged residue to sweep up.
